Happy First Day of School!<\/strong> I am so excited to post again and share my preschool curriculum with parents and teachers with fun projects and ideas. I could unfortunately not return to my preschool because my young third grader in the public system is virtually learning for the first school semester and I need to be home for him. I will miss my favorite part of the school year and especially the excitement of meeting new students in my classroom. Therefore, I send virtually lots of good wishes and hugs to all preschool children starting the new school year!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I encourage you to print red hearts and write your child\u2019s name or have him\/her write his\/her name in capital letters. These hearts can be put in many rooms of your house and get your child accustomed to the writing of his name (environmental print). For more advanced children, I suggest writing names of family members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the summer<\/strong>, I enlarged my garden and became the proud mama of 4 chicks. I already have a coop, 6 chicken and one rooster. Louis the Rooster is a gentle soul and protects the chicken against foxes or other predators very well. Here are some pictures of my babies growing: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You are invited to come and see them, as well as the garden!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next to the house, there is also an abundance of various fruit and vegetables. Here is a list of them:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  5. Broccoli<\/li>

  19. Beet<\/li>
  20. Lettuce<\/li>
  21. Leek<\/li>
  22. Bock Choi<\/li>
  23. Radish<\/li>
  24. Potato<\/li>
  25. Rhubarb<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Ask your child: Is it a vegetable or a fruit? (Remember a fruit is a \u201csweet and fleshy product of a plant that contains seed\u201d.)

    I hope this exercise will awaken your child\u2019s drive to discover and learn. In general, I have 3 broad classroom rules to help children in their in-person learning. They can remember these easily. I actually think these apply to any learning environment<\/strong> and keep children safe:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Quiet voices<\/strong><\/li>
    2. Listening hears<\/strong><\/li>
    3. Helping hands<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      I also recommend a list of supplies for our explorations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. A box with your child\u2019s name<\/li>
      2. Stick of glue and liquid glue<\/li>
      3. Children\u2019s scissor <\/li>
      4. Box of crayons or colored pencils<\/li>
      5. colored paper<\/li>
      6. Tape<\/li>
      7. dot painting<\/li>
      8. paint (acrylic and watercolor)<\/li>
      9. paper plates<\/li>
      10. goggly eyes<\/li>
      11. pipe cleaners<\/li>
      12. beads or cut-up plastic straws<\/li>
      13. yarn<\/li>
      14. buttons<\/li>
      15. stickers<\/li>
      16. empty toilet paper rolls and paper towel<\/li>
      17. empty egg cartons<\/li>
      18. empty yogurt cup<\/li>
      19. cardboard<\/li>
      20. rubber bands<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        The first 5 are essential and the others will come in handy during the school year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
