Is it cloudy, is it rainy, is it sunny, is it cold? (You can also change the weather words).
Let your child check the weather and tell you about it. You might want to ask your child to do a weather drawing that you can label. Some activities will be repetitive to create a routine that brings comfort to your child.

Language Arts

We end the week with an interactive book. Either you have a tablet or pretend having the book in your hand, children of any age will enjoy Press Here by Herve Tullet.

After viewing this book, brainstorm with your child the different feelings you had reading the book.

With your child, you can also review the primary colors (yellow, red, blue) and experiment with watercolors mixing two primary colors together (yellow-red, yellow-blue,….)

You can review singing the “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” Song and “Open, Shut Them” rhyme, as well as “The More We Get Together” Song with movement https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lldmkrJXQ-E

Here is a new Fingerplay called “I have Ten Little Fingers.”

I have ten little fingers and they all belong to me.
I can make them do things. Would you like to see?
I can shut them up tight. I can open them up wide.
I can clap them together. I can make them hide.
I can make them jump high. I can make them jump low.
I can fold them together & hold them just so! https://kcls.org/content/i-have-ten-little-fingers/

Math

Daily counting of tally marks and the counters you put in a container is an excellent practice for your child’s mathematical skills. The numbers of the tallies will be different every day and you can also change the counters. Extend the concept by comparing numbers: which has more? Which has less? Which are the same?

Art

Let your child explore and create more from the art supplies you have! Your child can explore dot painting with different colors. See what your child can create! You can also ask if your child can cover the whole piece of paper (any size) with dots, etc.

Small Motor Skills

Circle Dot Painting https://twistynoodle.com/circle-dot-painting-coloring-page/

Rainbow Dot Painting https://twistynoodle.com/rainbow-dot-painting-coloring-page/

Heart Dot to Dot https://twistynoodle.com/heart-dot-to-dot-coloring-page/

Pie Cutting Practice https://twistynoodle.com/pie-cutting-practice-coloring-page/

Gross Motor Skills

Wash Your Hand with Baby Shark https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlpFX6jIsEI&list=PL_Rt-fazoDzR8-7pe7gL8Zd6PkXVBvnLV

I can Do It by Patty Shukla (to do outside) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4HFZxPbHx0

Konichiwa!
