Let\u2019s sing together our song \u201cRise and Shine &#8211; Welcome to School Today\u201d by Dr. Jean <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=jyAD2OoFuoY\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=jyAD2OoFuoY<\/a> and our greeting song \u201cHello to all the children of the world\u201d: <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2nYjGy_ZUG8\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2nYjGy_ZUG8<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I realize that you might have to survey other members of your family for the <strong>question of the day<\/strong> so that your child have enough tally marks to count or have your child put more than one tally mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>How many grandparents\/friends do you have?<br>4              3              2             1             0  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For the writing\/reading process,<\/strong> have your child trace or copy (advanced skill) <strong>daily<\/strong> his\/her name on paper\/dry eraser board\/ mini blackboard (kindergarten handwriting page), either in all uppercase letters or just first letter in uppercase and the rest in lowercase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have <strong>My First School Book <\/strong>from <strong>Handwriting Without Tears<\/strong> methodology <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lwtears.com\/hwt\">https:\/\/www.lwtears.com\/hwt<\/a>, we will use it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to start learning letters, your child will need a <strong>set of big curves, little curves, big lines and little lines in wood.<\/strong> You can purchase them at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lwtears.com\">https:\/\/www.lwtears.com<\/a> or make them your self. With the song, a parent <strong>draws<\/strong> each part and invite your child to do the same looking at the parent drawing. At the end of Your child\u2019s drawing of Map Man, have your child add details to the drawing. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=xvphUKrDobc\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=xvphUKrDobc<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We can start with the Alphabet Song from Sesame Street:  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=783EsrHchXA\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=783EsrHchXA<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You might want to check your child\u2019s <strong>Readiness<\/strong> for the program by working together and filling in pages 92-93 in <strong>My First School Book. <\/strong>This evaluation will show your child\u2019s strengths and weaknesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Science <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On the tune of \u201cClementine\u201d, we can sing: <strong>what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather like today? Is it cloudy, is it rainy, is it sunny, is it cold?<\/strong> (You can also change the weather words).<br>Let your child check the weather and tell you about it. You might want to ask your child to do a weather drawing that you can label. Some activities will be repetitive to create a routine that brings comfort to your child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Language Arts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Hello, Goodbye Window<\/span> by Norton Juster <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ZKlkCIf2cug\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ZKlkCIf2cug<\/a> After viewing the book, help your child sequence the story: what happened first, next and at the end. Then, share with your child your memories of your grandparents\/grand friends and ask what your child experience\/love with grandparents\/friends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grandma\u2019s Glasses <strong>Fingerplay<\/strong> (You can change grandpa\/ma)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is grandma\u2019s glasses (make circles around eyes). Once tallied or counted, show your child the appropriate number card or write the number down to show your child. The numbers of the tallies will be different every day and you can also change the counters. Extend the concept by comparing numbers: <strong>which has more? Which has fewer? Which are the same?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>calendar<\/strong> is a <strong>daily<\/strong> activity to do with your child that develop number and pattern recognition. Here is the link to print a calendar to update daily with your child. Tie a knot;<\/li><li>Have your child put the art project in an envelope to give or send.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/evolvingmotherhood.com\/2013\/08\/crafty-way-mail-hug-someone-love.html#_a5y_p=2279907\">http:\/\/evolvingmotherhood.com\/2013\/08\/crafty-way-mail-hug-someone-love.html#_a5y_p=2279907<\/a><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For this <strong>Marble Painting Art Project<\/strong>, you need (1) tray or box, (2) marbles, (3) paint, (4) paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Directions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Put a paper on the tray or in an open box;<\/li><li>Drop  various paint and marbles on paper on tray or in box;<\/li><li>Have your child slide the box right and left to make the marbles roll.
