I realize that you might have to survey other members of your family for the question of the day<\/strong> so that your child have enough tally marks to count or have your child put more than one tally mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the writing\/reading process,<\/strong> have your child trace or copy (advanced skill) daily<\/strong> his\/her name on paper\/dry eraser board\/ mini blackboard (kindergarten handwriting page), either in all uppercase letters or just first letter in uppercase and the rest in lowercase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have My First School Book <\/strong>from Handwriting Without Tears<\/strong> methodology https:\/\/www.lwtears.com\/hwt<\/a>, we will use it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to start learning letters, your child will need a set of big curves, little curves, big lines and little lines in wood.<\/strong> You can purchase them at https:\/\/www.lwtears.com<\/a> or make them your self. Following yesterday\u2019s discovery of Map Man, both you and your child take a piece of paper<\/strong> and a crayon. With the song, a parent draws<\/strong> each part and invite your child to do the same looking at the parent drawing. You might want to check your child\u2019s Readiness<\/strong> for the program by working together and filling in pages 92-93 in My First School Book. <\/strong>This evaluation will show your child\u2019s strengths and weaknesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Science <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On the tune of \u201cClementine\u201d, we can sing: what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather like today? Is it cloudy, is it rainy, is it sunny, is it cold?<\/strong> (You can also change the weather words).
Let your child check the weather and tell you about it. You might want to ask your child to do a weather drawing that you can label. Some activities will be repetitive to create a routine that brings comfort to your child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Language Arts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Hello, Goodbye Window<\/span> by Norton Juster https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ZKlkCIf2cug<\/a> After viewing the book, help your child sequence the story: what happened first, next and at the end. Then, share with your child your memories of your grandparents\/grand friends and ask what your child experience\/love with grandparents\/friends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Math<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Daily counting of tally marks<\/strong> and the counters<\/strong> you put in a container is an excellent practice for your child\u2019s mathematical skills. Once tallied or counted, show your child the appropriate number card or write the number down to show your child. The numbers of the tallies will be different every day and you can also change the counters. Extend the concept by comparing numbers: which has more? Which has fewer? Which are the same?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The calendar<\/strong> is a daily<\/strong> activity to do with your child that develop number and pattern recognition. Here is the link to print a calendar to update daily with your child. For this Mail a Hug Art Project, <\/strong>you need: (1) colored paper, (2) markers\/crayons\/pencils, (3) scissors, (4) ribbon, and an envelope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Directions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Help your child trace both hands On colored paper and cut the hands out;<\/li>
  2. Help your child trace and cut one big and two small hearts out of colored paper;<\/li>
  3. Help your child cut two slits on each edge of hands and hearts to thread the ribbon;<\/li>
  4. Write a message on hearts like \u201cI love you\u201d or \u201cI miss you\u201d,…. <\/li>
  5. Thread the three hearts and one hand at each end. Tie a knot;<\/li>
  6. Have your child put the art project in an envelope to give or send.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    2. Drop various paint and marbles on paper on tray or in box;<\/li>
    3. Have your child slide the box right and left to make the marbles roll. It is really fun and strengthen arm muscles!<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
