I realize that you might have to survey other members of your family for the question of the day<\/strong> so that your child have enough tally marks to count or have your child put more than one tally mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the writing\/reading process,<\/strong> have your child trace or copy (advanced skill) daily<\/strong> his\/her name on paper\/dry eraser board\/ mini blackboard (kindergarten handwriting page) starting at the top of each letter (you could draw \ud83d\ude42) either in all uppercase letters or just first letter in uppercase and the rest in lowercase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 2 of building the letter F:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. A big line and 2 little lines for capital F\/ a big line, a little curve, and a little line for Lowercase f<\/strong>. Your child use a finger to trace the letter starting at the top and from left to right. (In order to start learning letters, your child will need a set of big curves, little curves, big lines and little lines in wood.<\/strong> You can purchase them at https:\/\/www.lwtears.com<\/a> or make them your self.   2. Wet-Dry-Try on small chalkboard<\/strong> (Handwriting Without Tears) https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Q6p4LUEGbwM<\/a><\/li>
  3. Play dough<\/strong> with small chalkboard (recipe: https:\/\/www.thebestideasforkids.com\/playdough-recipe\/<\/a>) or you can purchase the Roll-A-Dough<\/strong> Set from Handwriting without Tears https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=spjVLDXDixI<\/a><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    A whole week activity: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    For the phonetic<\/strong> part, have a big yogurt container with a lid filled with small objects or pictures that start with the letter F (Face, fall, farm, fence, five, flag). You might want to add a picture of a ball, so that your child can say that ball does not start with F ! Here is a book of F word pictures https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/my-letter-f-2-minibook\/<\/a> Also, you can add new objects\/pictures starting with the letter F and let your child explore the container all through the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Science<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    On the tune of \u201cClementine\u201d, we can sing: what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather like today? Is it cloudy, is it rainy, is it sunny, is it cold?<\/strong> (You can also change the weather words).
    Let your child check the weather and tell you about it. You might want to ask your child to do a weather drawing that you can label. Some activities will be repetitive to create a routine that brings comfort to your child.
    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Kitchen Science<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Community helpers and among them, construction workers, need energy to work, like you and me. A smoothie is a yummy and full of energy snack.
    For the recipe<\/strong>, you need (1) 1 banana peeled, (2) 1 cup of yogurt, (3) 1 cup of frozen fruit, (4) 1 tablespoon of honey, and (5) a mixer only operated by an adult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Have your child put all the ingredients in the blender and an adult blends all together. After blending, pour in drinking cups. Your yummy snack is ready!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Language Arts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    after snack time, a construction worker is ready to operate different trucks. Here is a selection of two interesting books: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      After viewing a book, help your child to retell the story, call the different trucks, and explain what the trucks do (vocabulary and memory building<\/strong>) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      If you take a car ride today, ask your child which trucks your child sees on the road and how many?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Construction workers might need help too!

      Math<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      The calendar<\/strong> is a daily<\/strong> activity to do with your child that develop number and pattern recognition. Here is the link to print a calendar to update daily with your child. The set has a weather component, if you like. https:\/\/www.themailbox.com\/magazines\/october-calendar-setbr4-pages\/october-calendar-set-3<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Daily counting of tally marks<\/strong> and show your child a number card or write the number down to show your child. The numbers of the tallies will be different every day. Extend the concept by comparing numbers: which has more? Which has fewer? Which are the same?<\/strong> How many more (count with fingers)?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Art<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      You can make different trucks out of many kinds of recyclables, glue, and paint\/crayons\/markers. Brainstorm with your child what truck you want to build and what recyclables you can use.

      For Construction Paper Truck Art Project<\/strong>, you need (1) scissors, (2) different colored construction paper, (3) glue, and (4) crayons\/markers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Cut circles, squares, rectangles and triangles out of colored construction paper<\/li>
      2. On a sheet of construction paper, glue the pieces to shape a truck. (Wheels, body,…)<\/li>
