Did you know that a chicken lays one egg a day, single-yolk or double-yolk? Let\u2019s introduce this bird\u2019s family. The dad is the rooster; the mom is the hen; the baby is the chick. Did you know about fertilized eggs that will become a chick and require a rooster? And the unfertilized egg, you can mainly find in the store, are good for cooking and do not need a rooster? Here is a short video about the chicken family. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wYKJkHcaMzE\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wYKJkHcaMzE<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Science<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For this \u201crooster crest\u201d fun Experiment, you need (1) a small clear bottle, (2) a plastic glove, (3) a rubber band or string, (4) baking soda, and vinegar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s put about 1 tbsp to 2 of baking soda in the glove and about 1\/3 cup of vinegar in the bottle. Cover the neck of the bottle with the Rubber band fastened glove and lift the glove so that the baking soda falls in the vinegar. What happens? You can experiment with the amounts of baking soda and vinegar too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your child has a journal, ask to make a drawing that you can date and label.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Language Arts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Chicken Little<\/span> by Laura Rader is one of my favorite story. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=IpQ0R6NVHFU\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=IpQ0R6NVHFU<\/a><br>After viewing the book, ask your child to cut up the character pictures below and retell the story with them. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themailbox.com\/magazines\/chicken-little-characters\/chicken-little-characters\">https:\/\/www.themailbox.com\/magazines\/chicken-little-characters\/chicken-little-characters<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fingerplay<\/strong>: \u201c5 Little Chicks\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5 little chicks went walking one day (hold up 5 fingers)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Into the barn and around the hay.
