I realize that you might have to survey other members of your family for the question of the day<\/strong> so that your child have enough tally marks to count or have your child put more than one tally mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When do you see a doctor?

For the writing\/reading process,<\/strong> have your child trace or copy (advanced skill) daily<\/strong> his\/her name on paper\/dry eraser board\/ mini blackboard (kindergarten handwriting page) starting at the top of each letter (you could draw \ud83d\ude42) either in all uppercase letters or just first letter in uppercase and the rest in lowercase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let us start with Eddy Elephant <\/strong>from Letterland<\/strong> and listen to the song: https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rtfMzp8tZ3I<\/a> After listening, show your child how to write a capital E and a lower case e (advanced) starting at the top (https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BJnZePnDo-U<\/a>). Have your child first trace the letter(s) you wrote with one finger. Writing letter e https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=aSy7nw4qWik<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A whole week activity<\/strong>:
For the phonetic<\/strong> part, have a big yogurt container with a lid filled with small objects or pictures that start with the letter E (Elephant, egg, enveloppe, exit, elbow). You might want to add a picture of a cat, so that your child can say that cat does not start with E! Here is a book of E word pictures https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/my-e-e-book-3-minibook\/<\/a> Also, you can add new objects\/pictures starting with the letter E every day and let your child explore the container all through the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Science<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During a doctor\u2019s visit, the first stop the nurse brings you to is the weight<\/strong> station for you or your child. If you have a scale<\/strong> available, weigh yourself, your child and other members of your family and compare numbers. Your child can also weigh other things in the house: a teddy bear, a block construction, shoes, a stack of books,…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the tune of \u201cClementine\u201d, we can sing: what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather like today? Is it cloudy, is it rainy, is it sunny, is it cold?<\/strong> (You can also change the weather words).
Let your child check the weather and tell you about it. You might want to ask your child to do a weather drawing that you can label. Some activities will be repetitive to create a routine that brings comfort to your child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Language Arts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If your child shows some anxiety talking about a doctor\u2019s visit, brainstorm<\/strong> with your child ways to make a doctor\u2019s visit a plaisant adventure!

    Math<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    What are shapes? Here is Mouse Shapes<\/span> by Ellen Stoll Walsh https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=HrNvjDzll9E<\/a> Have squares, rectangles, ovals, diamonds, triangles and circles big and small out of construction paper<\/strong> with which your child can build what the mice show in the book. After viewing the book, allow also your child to explore with shapes (Recyclables, blocks, duplos,…)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The calendar<\/strong> is a daily<\/strong> activity to do with your child that develop number and pattern recognition. Here is the link to print a calendar to update daily with your child.     Daily counting of tally marks<\/strong> and show your child a number card or write the number down to show your child. The numbers of the tallies will be different every day. Extend the concept by comparing numbers: which has more? Which has fewer? Which are the same?<\/strong> How many more (count with fingers)?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Art<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    For the simple Stethoscope Art Project<\/strong>, you need (1) 3 pipe cleaners or 1 and 1 plastic headband, (2) beads, (3) 1 large button or bottle cap with a hole in the middle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Instructions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Twist 3 pipe cleaners together at one end: 2 will be the ear tubes going at the end over each ear and 1 tube to the chest piece, which is the big button or bottle cap attached at the end. Your child can add beads to the pipe cleaners.<\/li>
    2. Or attach 1 pipe cleaner to plastic headband (that is both ear tubes) and attach the big button\/bottle cap to the other end of pipe cleaner.<\/li>

      For the Doctor\u2019s Bag<\/strong> Craft Project<\/strong>,You need (1) a sheet of black, white and red construction paper, (2) glue, (3) 1 Q-tip, (4) Band-Aids, (5) Gauze, (6) tongue depressor, (7) cotton balls, and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Directions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Fold black construction paper in 2 (doctor\u2019s bag);<\/li>
      2. Cut a medium white construction circle;<\/li>
      3. Cut a red construction paper cross or two rectangles to form a cross;<\/li>
      4. Glue the circle on the outside of doctor\u2019s bag and red cross on the white circle;<\/li>
      5. Inside the bag, glue the Q-tip, Band-Aids, gauze, tongue depressor, cotton balls, etc.<\/li>
