I realize that you might have to survey other members of your family for the question of the day<\/strong> so that your child have enough tally marks to count or have your child put more than one tally mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which one has teeth?

For the writing\/reading process,<\/strong> have your child trace or copy (advanced skill) daily<\/strong> his\/her name on paper\/dry eraser board\/ mini blackboard (kindergarten handwriting page) starting at the top of each letter (you could draw \ud83d\ude42) either in all uppercase letters or just first letter in uppercase and the rest in lowercase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will make the E shape with:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. A big line and 3 little lines for capital E\/ 2 little curves, and a little line for Lowercase e<\/strong>. Your child use a finger to trace the letter starting at the top and from left to right. (In order to start learning letters, your child will need a set of big curves, little curves, big lines and little lines in wood.<\/strong> You can purchase them at https:\/\/www.lwtears.com<\/a> or make them your self.   3. Play dough<\/strong> with small chalkboard (recipe: https:\/\/www.thebestideasforkids.com\/playdough-recipe\/<\/a>) or you can purchase the Roll-A-Dough<\/strong> Set from Handwriting without Tears https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=spjVLDXDixI<\/a><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    A whole week activity<\/strong>:
    For the phonetic<\/strong> part, have a big yogurt container with a lid filled with small objects or pictures that start with the letter E (Elephant, egg, enveloppe, exit, elbow). You might want to add a picture of a puppy, so that your child can say that puppy does not start with E! Here is a book of E word pictures     https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/my-e-e-book-3-minibook\/<\/a> Also, you can add new objects\/pictures starting with the letter E every day and let your child explore the container all through the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Science<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    For Making Toothpaste<\/strong>, you need (1) 1\/3 cup of baking soda, (2) 1 tbsp of water, (3) small bowl, (4) spoon, and (5) Drops of peppermint extract. Mix baking soda with water and peppermint extract to make a paste. And voil\u00e0!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    On the tune of \u201cOh, my Darling Clementine\u201d, we can sing: what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather like today? Is it cloudy, is it rainy, is it sunny, is it cold?<\/strong> (You can also change the weather words).
    Let your child check the weather and tell you about it. You might want to ask your child to do a weather drawing that you can label. Some activities will be repetitive to create a routine that brings comfort to your child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Language Arts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Mercer Mayer has a wonderful collection of books for preschoolers. My children loved reading them. Here is Just Going to the Dentist<\/span> https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bN8e4J0X9tM<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    After viewing the book, help your child sequence<\/strong> the story: what happened first, next and at the end. Share<\/strong> with your child your dentist experience and your child can share too. If your child is nervous about dentist\u2019s visits, brainstorm<\/strong> with your child how the experience could be more fun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The game of Qwarkle<\/strong> is a shape\/color board game for the whole family. I would strongly recommend it https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/MindWare-MDS-32016W-Qwirkle-Board\/dp\/1933054395<\/a> If you want to make it yourself, you need (1) Construction paper in 6 colors, (2) 6 different small shapes of the same size and (3) scissors to cut many shapes in different colors. The rule is to make rows or columns of only the same color or same shape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The calendar<\/strong> is a daily<\/strong> activity to do with your child that develop number and pattern recognition. Here is the link to print a calendar to update daily with your child. The set has a weather component, if you like. https:\/\/www.themailbox.com\/magazines\/october-calendar-setbr4-pages\/october-calendar-set-3<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Daily counting of tally marks<\/strong> and show your child a number card or write the number down to show your child. The numbers of the tallies will be different every day. Extend the concept by comparing numbers: which has more? Which has fewer? Which are the same?<\/strong> How many more (count with fingers)?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Art<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    For (1) Lace<\/strong> a<\/strong> Tooth Project,<\/strong> you need (1) Print tooth template http:\/\/teachersmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/tooth-template.jpg<\/a> and trace it on construction paper, (2) hole puncher, (3) piece of yarn, (4) scissors and (5) tape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Directions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Cut out tooth and punch at least ten holes around the edges,<\/li>
    2. Wrap a piece of tape around one end of the yarn piece to make it stiff,<\/li>
    3. Attach the other end of the yarn piece to one hole,<\/li>
    4. Help your child to lace in and out of holes along the edges.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      For (2) Brush a Sparkly Tooth Art Project<\/strong>,<\/em> you need (1) to print tooth template http:\/\/teachersmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/tooth-template.jpg<\/a> and trace it on construction paper, (2) toothpaste made in science section, (3) sparkles in a shaker, and a (4) toothbrush.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Directions: put toothpaste on the toothbrush and brush the paper tooth. After covering the paper tooth with toothpaste, shake sparkles on paper. You can also use food coloring to color the toothpaste. How does it smell?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      For (3) Build a Toothy Month Project<\/strong>, You need (1) big red oval in construction paper, (2) glue, (3) 20 mini- marshmallows, and (4) a red marker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Directions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Fold big oval in two. One side will be the upper jaw and the other, the lower jaw in a child\u2019s mouth.<\/li>
      2. Glue ten mini-marshmallows on the upper jaw and ten on the lower jaw along the edges for teeth.<\/li>
      3. Draw a tongue with red marker. https:\/\/madisonfamilydental.com\/make-marshmallow-mouth\/<\/a> Once the glue is dry, use dental floss to show your child how to floss teeth!<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
