I realize that you might have to survey other members of your family for the question of the day<\/strong> so that your child have enough tally marks to count or have your child put more than one tally mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the writing\/reading process,<\/strong> have your child trace or copy (advanced skill) daily<\/strong> his\/her name on paper\/dry eraser board\/ mini blackboard (kindergarten handwriting page) starting at the top of each letter (you could draw \ud83d\ude42) either in all uppercase letters or just first letter in uppercase and the rest in lowercase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have My First School Book <\/strong>from Handwriting Without Tears<\/strong> methodology https:\/\/www.lwtears.com\/hwt<\/a>. Have your child complete pages 27-28<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A whole week activity<\/strong>:
For the phonetic<\/strong> part, have a big yogurt container with a lid filled with small objects or pictures that start with the letter E (Elephant, egg, enveloppe, exit, elbow). You might want to add a picture of a puppy, so that your child can say that puppy does not start with E! Here is a book of E word pictures https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/my-e-e-book-3-minibook\/<\/a> Also, you can add new objects\/pictures starting with the letter E every day and let your child explore the container all through the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Science<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday, your child observed the moon. Today, your child can do an advanced experiment with family members to explain why your child see different parts of the moon in the sky each day. https:\/\/www.jpl.nasa.gov\/edu\/teach\/activity\/moon-phases\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the tune of \u201cOh, my Darling Clementine\u201d, we can sing: what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather like today? Is it cloudy, is it rainy, is it sunny, is it cold?<\/strong> (You can also change the weather words).
Let your child check the weather and tell you about it. You might want to ask your child to do a weather drawing that you can label. Some activities will be repetitive to create a routine that brings comfort to your child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Language Arts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Pete the Cat collection of books is a favorite to preschoolers. Here is Pete the Cat The Wheels on the Bus<\/span> by James Dean. This book gives us an opportunity to talk about position words. After you color and cut print-outs (or use toy bus), explore with your child these position words by asking: where is Pete the cat?<\/strong> And encourage your child to respond: Pete the Cat is ….. (positional word) the school bus.<\/strong>

Magna-Tiles <\/strong>are popular with preschoolers and let them explore 2 and 3 dimensional shapes. You can find them at Amazon and other stores. You can also start introducing these 3D-shapes while playing with blocks or recyclables: sphere, cube, (rectangular)prism, cylinder, cone and (square) pyramid. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The calendar<\/strong> is a daily<\/strong> activity to do with your child that develop number and pattern recognition. Here is the link to print a calendar to update daily with your child. Daily counting of tally marks<\/strong> and show your child a number card or write the number down to show your child. The numbers of the tallies will be different every day. Extend the concept by comparing numbers: which has more? Which has fewer? Which are the same?<\/strong> How many more (count with fingers)?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Art<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Today is Free Watercolor Painting<\/strong>. You need paper, watercolor and a brush. Encourage your child to describe the painting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this STEAM Project<\/strong>, you need (1) recyclables, (2) piece of cardboard as a base, and (3) colored tapes. Engage your child to build with recyclables and tapes on the cardboard base and encourage your child to verbalize the process of building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
