Among the cattle<\/strong> family, there is a mommy cow<\/strong>, a daddy bull<\/strong> and a baby calf<\/strong>. All together, they make a herd<\/strong>! Only cows give us milk though!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kitchen Science<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For this butter-making project, you need (1) mason jar or baby food jar, (2) heavy cream, (3) bowl, and (4) cold water in a pitcher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Help your child to fill half the mason jar or baby food jar with heavy cream. Have your child shake the jar for 6-8 minutes. Pour out the content of the jar in the bowl and you will see the butter and buttermilk. Form a ball with butter in the bowl. Pour Cold water on the ball to remove excess buttermilk. Dairy Food Science Game – For this game, you need 9 dairy food pictures cut from magazines that you glue on a piece of paper, and 9 milk jug tops (or paper squares) Both are needed for each player. Take turn saying a milk product and cover the picture with a top if you have it on your paper. The winner is the player with all pictures covered. For this Cow Art Project, you need (1) paper plate or white paper bag, (2) scissors, (3) black, white, and pink construction paper, (4) black marker, and (5) glue and stapler.

Help your child to cut out a big oval for the cow\u2019s mouth and 2 little ones for ears out of pink construction paper, 2 white ovals bigger than the pink ones, as well as 2 black ovals for horns and 4-6 pieces out of black construction paper. Draw eyes with marker and glue all pieces together on the paper plate. You might want to staple the ears too.
