Your child use a finger to trace the letter starting at the top, going down and going back up to make the curve and then down. (In order to start learning letters, your child will need a <strong>set of big curves, little curves, big lines and little lines in wood.<\/strong> You can purchase them at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lwtears.com\">https:\/\/www.lwtears.com<\/a> or make them your self. You might want to add a picture of a kitty, so that your child can say that kitty does not start with H! Here is a book of H word pictures <a href=\"https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/h-is-for-house-2-minibook\/\">https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/h-is-for-house-2-minibook\/<\/a> Also, you can add new objects\/pictures starting with the letter H every day and let your child explore the container all through the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Science<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For the <strong>Fall Leaves Science Experiment<\/strong>, you need (1) boiling water (adult handling), (2) rubbing alcohol (adult handling), (3) Small container with lids, and (4) leaves (green, red, yellow and brown)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Directions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Put different colored leaves in boiling water for 5 minutes.<\/li><li>Pour some rubbing alcohol In small container with lid and drop 1 colored leaf that was in the boiling water.<\/li><li> Close the lid.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Let your child observe many times during a period of 2 days what happens to the leaf in each small container. <a href=\"https:\/\/alittlepinchofperfect.com\/fall-leaf-science-experiment-for-kids\/\">https:\/\/alittlepinchofperfect.com\/fall-leaf-science-experiment-for-kids\/<\/a> Discuss what happens to leaves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the tune of \u201cOh, my Darling Clementine\u201d, we can sing: <strong>what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather like today? Is it cloudy, is it rainy, is it sunny, is it cold?<\/strong> (You can also change the weather words).<br>Let your child check the weather and tell you about it. You might want to ask your child to do a weather drawing that you can label. Some activities will be repetitive to create a routine that brings comfort to your child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Language Arts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For little listeners, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Autumn\u2019s First Leaf<\/span> by Steve Metzger <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ZMcG5FnTFKg\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ZMcG5FnTFKg<\/a><br>For advanced listeners, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Fletcher and the Falling Leaves<\/span> by Julia Rawlinson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=24MOhPHhqkA\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=24MOhPHhqkA<\/a><br>After viewing one of the selection, help your child to <strong>sequence<\/strong> the story: what comes first, next and at the end. Brainstorm also with your child the different <strong>feelings<\/strong> the characters expressed and how to show these feelings on a paper face. Let\u2019s start with a simple practice: Circle Patterns <a href=\"https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/circle-patterns-coloring-page\/\">https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/circle-patterns-coloring-page\/<\/a> and Make your own Patterns <a href=\"https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/make-ab-patterns-coloring-page\/\">https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/make-ab-patterns-coloring-page\/<\/a> (AB, ABC, ABCD, &#8230;.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>calendar<\/strong> is a <strong>daily<\/strong> activity to do with your child that develop number and pattern recognition. Here is the link to print a calendar to update daily with your child. The numbers of the tallies will be different every day. Extend the concept by comparing numbers: <strong>which has more? Which has fewer? Which are the same?<\/strong> <strong>How many more (count with fingers)?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Art<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For the <strong>Autumn Leaves STEAM Absorption Art Project,<\/strong> you need (1) Coffee filters, (2) markers (red, yellow, green and brown), (3) leaves, (4) scissors and (5) a bowl of water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Directions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Use leaves as stencils on the coffee filters.<\/li><li>Cut out the leaf shapes on the coffee filters with scissors.<\/li><li>color a thick ring with a colored marker at the center of each leaf.<\/li><li>Fold leaf into 2, then again into 2, and into 2.<\/li><li>Dip the white tip of folded leaf into the bowl of water.<\/li><li>Observe how the water moves up the leaf filter.<\/li><li>Let it dry flat and enjoy beautiful colored leaves!<\/li><li>Picture at <a href=\"https:\/\/alittlepinchofperfect.com\/autumn-leaves-steam-absorption-art-for-kids-to-enjoy\/\">https:\/\/alittlepinchofperfect.com\/autumn-leaves-steam-absorption-art-for-kids-to-enjoy\/<\/a><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>For the <strong>Nature Fall Collage Art Project<\/strong>, you need (1) leaves and sticks, (2) glue, and (3) paper.
