I realize that you might have to survey other members of your family for the question of the day<\/strong> so that your child have enough tally marks to count or have your child put more than one tally mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the writing\/reading process,<\/strong> have your child trace or copy (advanced skill) daily<\/strong> his\/her name on paper\/dry eraser board\/ mini blackboard (kindergarten handwriting page) starting at the top of each letter (you could draw \ud83d\ude42) either in all uppercase letters or just first letter in uppercase and the rest in lowercase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A whole week activity<\/strong>:
For the phonetic<\/strong> part, have a big yogurt container with a lid filled with small objects or pictures that start with the letter T (table, teddy, telephone, ten, top, tractor.) You might want to add a picture of a hippo, so that your child can say that hippo does not start with T! Here is a book of T word pictures: https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/it-begins-with-t-minibook\/<\/a> Also, you can add new objects\/pictures starting with the letter T every day and let your child explore the container all through the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Science<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Bats<\/strong> are nocturnal<\/strong> mammals and National Geographic Video reveals interesting facts https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=NBCODnTUOrY<\/a> Bats use echolocation<\/strong> to fly at night. Have you ever heard an echo of the sound of your words when you are in a room with high ceiling, under a bridge, in a cave…?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this simple Echo Experiment<\/strong>, you need only a big and deep stainless steel pot. Your child can put his\/her head in front of the pot holding the 2 handles and say words like \u201chello.\u201d What does your child hear? Your child will hear the echo of his\/her voice, the sounds coming out of her\/his month that are bouncing on the stainless steel wall to your child\u2019s ears!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the tune of \u201cOh, my Darling Clementine\u201d, we can sing: what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather like today? Is it cloudy, is it rainy, is it sunny, is it cold?<\/strong> (You can also change the weather words).
Let your child check the weather and tell you about it. You might want to ask your child to do a weather drawing that you can label. Some activities will be repetitive to create a routine that brings comfort to your child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Language Arts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Bats are often associated to scary stories, but are in fact cute animals. Here are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The calendar<\/strong> is a daily<\/strong> activity to do with your child that develop number and pattern recognition. Here is the link to print a calendar to update daily with your child.     Daily counting of tally marks<\/strong> and show your child a number card or write the number down to show your child. The numbers of the tallies will be different every day. Extend the concept by comparing numbers: which has more? Which has fewer? Which are the same?<\/strong> How many more (count with fingers)?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Art<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    For the Bat Silhouette Art Project<\/strong>, you need (1) small paper plate, (2) white paint, (3) sponge, (4) bat cut-outs, (5) yellow and black construction paper, (6) tape and (7) scissors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Instructions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Drop white paint in paper plate and press sponge in paint.<\/li>
    2. Take sheet of black construction paper and put tape under the bat cut-outs to fix on paper.<\/li>
    3. Press sponge with paint on the edges of bat cut-outs.<\/li>
    4. Cut and glue on black construction paper 1 big yellow circle out of yellow construction paper for the moon.<\/li>
    5. Detach the bat cut-outs https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/black-bat-15-coloring-page\/<\/a><\/li>
    6. Picture https:\/\/abcsofliteracy.com\/how-to-make-a-bat-silhouette-craft\/<\/a><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      For the Toilet Paper Bat Art Project<\/strong>, you need (1) glue, (2) toilet paper roll, (3) print out https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/make-a-bat-coloring-page\/<\/a> to use as stencil, (4) black paint and brush, (5) black construction paper, (5) scissors, (6) googly eyes, and (7) marker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Directions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Paint toilet paper roll in black paint with brush.<\/li>
      2. Cut stencils and use\/cut them on black construction paper.<\/li>
      3. Glue on dry toilet paper roll.<\/li>
      4. Glue googly eyes.<\/li>
      5. Use marker to draw a face.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        You can attached the paper roll bat to a string to make it fly!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
