Field trips are always exciting for children. I thoroughly enjoyed accompanying my children and their teachers. The school bus ride was always bumpy, noisy, and full of laughter and giggles! Let\u2019s just pretend you and your child are on a bus. For this school bus activity<\/strong>, you need a couple of chairs in a row.

1. Take turn being the driver<\/strong> sitting at the front and telling what you can see on the way or describe with words<\/strong> and movement<\/strong> what you are doing and have the other person copy your movement: I am stepping inside the bus (make big steps); I\u2019m saying \u201chello\u201d to the driver; I\u2019m going to my seat (go to chair); the road is bumpy (jump slightly on your chair); I take my jacket, my gloves and hat off; I sing;….<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Sing \u201cThe Wheels on the bus\u201d Song<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round.
The wheels on the bus go round and round, all through the town.
    (Roll hands around each other)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wipers on the bus go swish, swish, swish; swish, swish, swish; swish, swish, swish.
The wipers on the bus go Swish, swish, swish, all through the town.
    (“Swish” hands in front of you like windshield wipers)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The horn on the bus goes beep, beep, beep; beep, beep, beep; beep, beep, beep.
The horn on the bus goes beep, beep, beep, all through the town.
    (Slap palm in front of you like honking a horn)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The doors on the bus go open and shut; open and shut; open and shut.
The doors on the bus go open and shut; all through the town.
    (Push hands back and forth in front of you)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The driver on the bus says “Move on back, move on back, move on back;”
The driver on the bus says “Move on back”, all through the town.
    (Point thumb over your shoulder)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The babies on the bus say “Wah, wah, wah; wah, wah, wah; wah, wah, wah”.
The babies on the bus say “Wah, wah, wah”, all through the town.
    (Rub fists in front of eyes)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mommies on the bus say “Shush, shush, shush; shush, shush, shush; Shush, shush, shush.”
The mommies on the bus say “Shush, shush, shush” all through the town.
    (Hold index finger in front of mouth as if saying shhh)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add as many new lyrics as you and your child want!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a short bus ride, you and your child arrived at our destination. You are now ready to enter The Little Farm<\/strong>: https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Hg2ZX0PF-jI<\/a> You will meet:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Chicken, turkeys, ducks and geese and their eggs\/chicks.<\/li>
  2. Poney and horses to ride<\/li>
  3. Goats to milk<\/li>
  4. And play a game of animal sounds.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Now, it is time to learn again about pumpkins with Scholastic! https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=AB-dfi_0TsQ<\/a> and to pick pumpkins https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mvl00KXZGbI<\/a>

    After we discovered the science behind growing pumpkins, let\u2019s go on a fall hayride<\/strong> at the Rose\u2019s Berry Farm.     https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=6TjkhdiVyf0<\/a> and search for the Halloween Decorations! What did you see and how many Halloween decorations did you count?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
