(Blow kisses) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For the writing\/reading process,<\/strong> have your child trace or copy (advanced skill) <strong>daily<\/strong> his\/her name on paper\/dry eraser board\/ mini blackboard (kindergarten handwriting page) starting at the top of each letter (you could draw \ud83d\ude42) either in all uppercase letters or just first letter in uppercase and the rest in lowercase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I realize that you might have to survey other members of your family for the <strong>question of the day<\/strong> so that your child have enough tally marks to count or have your child put more than one tally mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>What is your favorite celebration?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>HALLOWEEN \ud83c\udf83 \/ CHRISTMAS \ud83c\udf84   \/  HANUKKAH \ud83d\udd4e   \/  DIWALI \ud83e\ude94  \/    EID <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Making Letter U shape:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>2 big lines and 1 big curve for capital U\/ 2little lines and 1 little curve for Lowercase u<\/strong>. Your child use a finger to trace the letter starting at the top, going down and going back up from left to right and going straight back down (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=0gosWhkMwf8\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=0gosWhkMwf8<\/a>). Have your child complete <strong>page 32 and 33.<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A whole week activity<\/strong>:<br>For the <strong>phonetic<\/strong> part, have a big yogurt container with a lid filled with small objects or pictures that start with the letter U (umbrella, uncle, ugly, up, under, underneath, understand, upstairs, upside down, us for short \/U\/ and unicorn, university, uniform, United, unicycle, use, useful for long \/U\/.) You might want to add a picture of ice-cream, so that your child can say that ice-cream does not start with U! Here is a book of U word pictures: <a href=\"https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/letter-u-minibook\/\">https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/letter-u-minibook\/<\/a> Also, you can add new objects\/pictures starting with the letter U every day and let your child explore the container all through the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Science<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On the tune of \u201cOh, my Darling Clementine\u201d, we can sing: <strong>what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather like today? Is it cloudy, is it rainy, is it sunny, is it cold?<\/strong> (You can also change the weather words).<br>Let your child check the weather and tell you about it. You might want to ask your child to do a weather drawing that you can label. Some activities will be repetitive to create a routine that brings comfort to your child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Kitchen Science <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the classroom, I love baking with children and see them learn with fun activities. The <strong>choice<\/strong> is wide between boxed <strong>cupcakes<\/strong> mixes from Duncan Hines, Pilsbury, Betty Crocker and others, with few ingredients needed (eggs, oil, water\/milk),  and recipes with ingredients in my kitchen. It is the same for icing. Therefore, I found many websites with a wide variety of cupcake recipes from scratch like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allrecipes.com\/search\/results\/?wt=Cupcakes&amp;page=2\">https:\/\/www.allrecipes.com\/search\/results\/?wt=Cupcakes&amp;page=2<\/a>. The <strong>calendar<\/strong> is a <strong>daily<\/strong> activity to do with your child that develop number and pattern recognition. Here is the link to print a calendar to update daily with your child. The numbers of the tallies will be different every day. Extend the concept by comparing numbers: <strong>which has more? Which has fewer? Which are the same?<\/strong> <strong>How many more (count with fingers)?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Art<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong>Letter U Art Project<\/strong>, you need (1) scissors, (2) colored construction paper, (3) glue, (4) different colored yarn, (5) googly eye, and (6) brown marker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Directions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Cut letter U out of white construction paper and medium oval for unicorn head.
