Children use their senses (vision, hearing, taste, smell, and touch) to better understand their world. Question your child about their senses and help your child express them with words (It tastes yummy even if it is gooey!) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For a fun supplemental activity, you and your child can <strong>decorate<\/strong> cookies or cupcakes you baked this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the tune of \u201cOh, my Darling Clementine\u201d, we can sing: <strong>what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather like today? Is it cloudy, is it rainy, is it sunny, is it cold?<\/strong> (You can also change the weather words).<br>Let your child check the weather and tell you about it. You might want to ask your child to do a weather drawing that you can label. Some activities will be repetitive to create a routine that brings comfort to your child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Language Arts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are so many Halloween books to choose from. The <strong>calendar<\/strong> is a <strong>daily<\/strong> activity to do with your child that develop number and pattern recognition. Here is the link to print a calendar to update daily with your child. The set has a weather component, if you like.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.themailbox.com\/magazines\/september-calendar-setbr4-pages\/september-calendar-set-3\"> https:\/\/www.themailbox.com\/magazines\/october-calendar-setbr4-pages\/october-calendar-set-3<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daily counting of <strong>tally marks<\/strong> and show your child a number card or write the number down to show your child. The numbers of the tallies will be different every day. Extend the concept by comparing numbers: <strong>which has more? Which has fewer? Which are the same?<\/strong> <strong>How many more (count with fingers)?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other Halloween Games<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>For <strong>Pin the Bowtie on the Skeleton<\/strong> <strong>Game<\/strong>, you need any skeleton attached to a wall and construction paper bowties with your family\u2019s names on them and a little tape at the back to stick. Blindfold a player and have the player put a bowtie with name on the skeleton. The player who puts the bowtie closest to the skeleton neck wins!<\/li><li>For <strong>Eyeball Surprise<\/strong>, you need to prepare the day before by soaking bouncy rubber eyeballs in cups with water and baking soda overnight.  Ask your child to spoon vinegar over the eyes to reveal&#8230;..<\/li><li>For <strong>Halloween cakewalk<\/strong>, have number 1-10 written on paper on the floor and play music. When the music stops, players freeze on a number. Roll dice and see what the number is. The player on the number rolled wins&#8230;. a cup of candy?<\/li><li>For <strong>Spooky Tic Tac Toe Game<\/strong>, draw a grid and use 5 Halloween items for player 1 (like 5 spiders) and 5 Halloween items for player 2 (like 5 rubber eyeballs). The winning players is the one putting three items in a row.<\/li><li>For <strong>Ghost Bowling<\/strong>, you need 6 white plastic cups, a little rubber ball and a marker. Draw different faces, spooky or not, on white plastic ghost cups and stack them to form a pyramid. From a little distance, have your child toss the little rubber ball to knock the pyramid down. The winner gets&#8230;..<\/li><li>For <strong>Candy Corn Count<\/strong>, put candy corns in a glass cup\/container. Ask your players to estimate how many candy corn are in the glass cup. Then count the candy corns. The player with the closest number wins&#8230;&#8230;<\/li><li>For <strong>Spider Web Walking Game<\/strong>, you need masking tape and Halloween small objects. Create a spiderweb on your floor or outside and drop Halloween small objects different places on the web. The player has to walk on the web tape without falling and pick up Halloween objects on the way.<\/li><li>For <strong>Spider Race Game<\/strong>, you need straws, light plastic spiders and tape. Put a line of tape for the start and finish of race. Put a spider in front of each player on the start line and give a straw. Each player has to blow through the straw to make the spider move. The player blowing a spider to the finish line wins!<\/li><li>For <strong>Bobbing for Apples<\/strong>, you need a bowl of water and small apples floating in it.
