(Blow kisses) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For the writing\/reading process,<\/strong> have your child trace or copy (advanced skill) <strong>daily<\/strong> his\/her name on paper\/dry eraser board\/ mini blackboard (kindergarten handwriting page) starting at the top of each letter (you could draw \ud83d\ude42) either in all uppercase letters or just first letter in uppercase and the rest in lowercase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I realize that you might have to survey other members of your family for the <strong>question of the day<\/strong> so that your child have enough tally marks to count or have your child put more than one tally mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Which word starts with the letter C?<br>CAT \ud83d\udc08\/ RAINBOW \ud83c\udf08\/ CASTLE \ud83c\udff0\/ CAR \ud83d\ude98\/ CLOCK \u23f0 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Monday, we started with <strong>Clever Cat<\/strong> from <strong>Letterland<\/strong> and listen to the song: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=iY4vqYK8ohM\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=iY4vqYK8ohM<\/a> and your child traced the capital\/uppercase C and lowercase c. Let\u2019s listen in the Letterland Story Corner, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Clever Cat and the Cake<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wX9S_iM6TOg\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wX9S_iM6TOg<\/a> After listening to the story, help your child to retell the story using lots of C words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A whole week activity<\/strong>:<br>For the <strong>phonetic<\/strong> part, have a big yogurt container with a lid filled with small objects or pictures that start with the letter C (cake, car, cat, candle, cap, castle, clean, clever, climb, clock, clothes, cold, color, come, cook, count, cross, cuddle, cup, custard, cut.) You might want to add a picture of a unicorn, so that your child can say that unicorn does not start with C! Is it cloudy, is it rainy, is it sunny, is it cold?<\/strong> (You can also change the weather words).<br>Let your child check the weather and tell you about it. You might want to ask your child to do a weather drawing that you can label. Some activities will be repetitive to create a routine that brings comfort to your child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Language Arts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Children hear people about elections. Here are three books explaining the process: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Night Before Election Day<\/span> by Natasha Wing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mvoTbS4Slcg\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mvoTbS4Slcg<\/a><br>2. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Duck for President<\/span> by Doreen Cronin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=KB6NfdT-v14\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=KB6NfdT-v14<\/a>. <br>3. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">V is for Voting<\/span> (alphabet-advanced) by Kate Farrell <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=O3z7DhEyIDo\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=O3z7DhEyIDo<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After viewing a book, review how adults vote and answer your child\u2019s questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many patriotic songs are available and the Pledge of Allegiance is said in every public school <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=hQ0C1aOpO4Q\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=hQ0C1aOpO4Q<\/a> Jack Hartmann also wrote a song \u201cAmerica to Me\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=oex3j_9AhGA\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=oex3j_9AhGA<\/a> (your child can repeat the lyrics).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To extend your child\u2019s knowledge of the states, here is Jack Hartmann \u201c50 States Song\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=luNbXJ5QoKY\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=luNbXJ5QoKY<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Math<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Each week has 7 days and children can remember with this fun song (\u201cAdams\u2019 Family\u201d tune) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=GrG7zBUDiqQ\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=GrG7zBUDiqQ<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With <strong>colored blocks<\/strong>, your child can make different <strong>patterns<\/strong>. Make patterns (ABAB, ABCABC, ABBA, ABBCABBC,&#8230;.), have your child copy them, make his or her own, and decide which pattern is the best. With more children, take a vote!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>November is here! The <strong>calendar<\/strong> is a <strong>daily<\/strong> activity to do with your child that develop number and pattern recognition. Here is the link to print a calendar to update daily with your child. The numbers of the tallies will be different every day. Extend the concept by comparing numbers: <strong>which has more? Which has fewer?
