For the writing\/reading process,<\/strong> have your child trace or copy (advanced skill) daily<\/strong> his\/her name on paper\/dry eraser board\/ mini blackboard (kindergarten handwriting page) starting at the top of each letter (you could draw \ud83d\ude42) either in all uppercase letters or just first letter in capital\/uppercase and the rest in lowercase. If your child is starting to write on paper, you can write your child\u2019s name with a highlighter and your child can use a crayon to trace it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I realize that you might have to survey other members of your family for the question of the day<\/strong> so that your child have enough tally marks to count or have your child put more than one tally mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A whole week activity<\/strong>:
For the phonetic<\/strong> part, have a big yogurt container with a lid filled with small objects or pictures that start with the letter O (object, October, octopus, odd, off, of, or, office, often, on, opposite, orange, ostrich, otter.) You might want to add a picture of a cat, so that your child can say that cat does not start with O! Here is a book of O word pictures: https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/my-oo-book-5-minibook\/<\/a> Also, you can add new objects\/pictures starting with the letter O every day and let your child explore the container all through the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let your child check the weather and tell you about it. You might want to ask your child to do a weather drawing that you can label. Some activities will be repetitive to create a routine that brings comfort to your child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    November is here! The calendar<\/strong> is a daily<\/strong> activity to do with your child that develop number and pattern recognition. Here is the link to print a calendar to update daily with your child.     Daily counting of tally marks<\/strong> and show your child a number card or write the number down to show your child. The numbers of the tallies will be different every day. Extend the concept by comparing numbers: which has more? Which has fewer? Which are the same?<\/strong> How many more (count with fingers)?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Art<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    For the Peacock Art Project<\/strong>, you need (1) a small paper plate or coffee filter, (2) dot painting, (3) blue and yellow construction paper, (4) glue, (5) scissors, and (6) black marker or googly eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Directions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Cut a pear-shaped blue construction paper peacock body.<\/li>
    2. Cut a little triangle-shaped yellow construction paper beak and 2 feet.<\/li>
    3. Dot paint the coffee filter\/small paper plate using lots of colors to make it very colorful!<\/li>
    4. Once dry, glue peacock body on filter\/small paper plate and also beak and feet.<\/li>
    5. Draw eyes with marker or glue googly eyes.<\/li>
    6. Let your creativity shine!<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      For Salt Dough Diyas Art Project<\/strong>, you need (1) 1 cup of salt, (2) 2 cups of flour, (3) 1 cup of water, (4) mixing bowl with spoon, (5) paint with brush, (6) glue, (7) tea candles and (8) colorful beads or other decorations of choice.
      Directions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Mix all salt dough ingredients in a bowl.<\/li>
      2. Shape pieces of salt dough into cups.<\/li>
      3. Bake at about 100 degrees F for about 1 hour.<\/li>
      4. Once dry, paint with color of choice.<\/li>
      5. Glue beads or any decoration of choice.<\/li>
