(Blow kisses) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For the writing\/reading process,<\/strong> have your child trace or copy (advanced skill) <strong>daily<\/strong> his\/her name on paper\/dry eraser board\/ mini blackboard (kindergarten handwriting page) starting at the top of each letter (you could draw an emoji \ud83d\ude42) either in all uppercase letters or just first letter in capital\/uppercase and the rest in lowercase. If your child is starting to write on paper, you can write your child\u2019s name with a highlighter and your child can use a crayon to trace it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I realize that you might have to survey other members of your family for the <strong>question of the day<\/strong> so that your child have enough tally marks to count or have your child put more than one tally mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>What do you like on your pizza?    <br>PEPPERONI \ud83c\udf55\/ MUSHROOM \ud83c\udf44\/ PEPPER \ud83e\uded1\/ ONION \ud83e\uddc5 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Making Letter K Shape:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" id=\"block-48375926-4025-41df-9aae-1d4cd70f62d9\"><li><strong>1 big line and 2 little lines for capital K and Lowercase k<\/strong>. Your child use a finger to trace the letter starting at the top, going down, jump back up, and 2 diagonals down. (In order to start learning letters, your child will need a <strong>set of big curves, little curves, big lines and little lines in wood.<\/strong> You can purchase them at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lwtears.com\">https:\/\/www.lwtears.com<\/a> or make them your self. For writing number 3: start at the top, go down and around twice <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=yuHFOuopiKQ\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=yuHFOuopiKQ<\/a> Encourage your child to trace with pointer finger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A whole week activity<\/strong>:<br>For the <strong>phonetic<\/strong> part, have a big yogurt container with a lid filled with small objects or pictures that start with the letter K (kangaroo, keep, kennel, ketchup, kettle, key, key, kick, kid, kilo, kind, king, kiss, kitchen, kite, kitten, kaleidoscope). You might want to add a picture of a rainbow, so that your child can say rainbow does not start with K! You can spread tomato sauce on dough\/bread and shredded mozzarella on top (you can find pizza sauce and shredded mozzarella at grocery stores). Put it in the oven until cheese is melted and slightly golden brown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make <strong>quick pizza dough,<\/strong> you need (1) bowl with spoon, (2) 2 1\/2 cups of flour, (3) 1 tsp of salt, (4) 1 tsp of sugar, (5) 2 tbsp of olive oil, (6) 1 cup of warm water, and (7) active dry yeast (1 packet of 1\/4 oz). Mix all ingredients together until you get a ball. Transfer to a lightly floured surface and knead the dough. Let it stand for 30 minutes before rolling it out to make pizza!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Science<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On the tune of \u201cOh, my Darling Clementine\u201d, we can sing: <strong>what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather like today? Is it cloudy, is it rainy, is it sunny, is it cold?<\/strong> (You can also change the weather words).<br>Let your child check the weather and tell you about it. For this math activity, you need (1) big paper plate for pizza, (2) glue, (3) small shapes out of construction paper: pink squares for ham, yellow rectangles for cheese, red circles for pepperoni, and green triangles for peppers. Have your child decorate the pizza with all ingredients (shapes)  and count the amounts of each. Then, make a list to fill with numbers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFor my pizza,      <br>I used &#8230;&#8230;. pink squares.    <br>I used &#8230;&#8230;.. yellow rectangles.     <br>I used &#8230;&#8230;.. red circles.     <br>I used &#8230;&#8230;.. green triangles.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>January just started. The <strong>calendar<\/strong> is a <strong>daily<\/strong> activity to do with your child that develop number and pattern recognition. Here is the link to print a calendar to update daily with your child. The set has a weather component, if you like.<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.themailbox.com\/magazines\/january-calendar-set\/january-calendar-set-2\">https:\/\/www.themailbox.com\/magazines\/january-calendar-set\/january-calendar-set-2<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daily counting of <strong>tally marks<\/strong> and show your child a number card or write the number down to show your child. The numbers of the tallies will be different every day. Extend the concept by comparing numbers: <strong>which has more? Which has fewer? Which are the same?How many more (count with fingers)<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Art<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong>Paper Pizza Art Project<\/strong>, you need (1) big paper plate, (2) scissors, (3) red and brown tempera paint with brush, (4) yellow yarn, (5) red construction paper small circles, (6) glue, (7) black marker.    <br>Directions:    <br>1. Draw lines to divide big paper plate\/pie into 6 equal parts\/slices with black marker.   <br>2. Cut out each equal part\/slice.   <br>3. Paint the center of each part\/slice with red tempera paint for tomato sauce and the rim with brown tempera paint for crust.   <br>4. Cut little pieces of yellow yarn for shredded mozzarella.    <br>5. Once paint dry, glue yarn pieces and small red circles for pepperoni on each slice of paper plate\/pie. You can add more ingredients on pie out of construction paper like triangles for peppers, pink rectangles for ham, brown small circles for mushrooms, &#8230;   <br>6. For further exploration, use another big paper plate and draw lines to divide it into 6 equal parts\/slices and number each slice from 1 to 6 with black marker. Encourage your child to place the painted slices on the numbered pie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong>Letterland Letter K Art Project<\/strong>, you need (1) light blue construction paper, (2) glue, (3) scissors, (4) letter K template, (5) small rhombus\/diamonds out of construction paper, (6) cotton balls, and (7) yarn.    <br>Directions:      <br>1.
