For the writing\/reading process,<\/strong> have your child trace or copy (advanced skill) daily<\/strong> his\/her name on paper\/dry eraser board\/ mini blackboard (kindergarten handwriting page) starting at the top of each letter (you could draw an emoji \ud83d\ude42) either in all uppercase letters or just first letter in capital\/uppercase and the rest in lowercase. If your child is starting to write on paper, you can write your child\u2019s name with a highlighter and your child can use a crayon to trace it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riddle: it\u2019s a musical instrument, starts with the letter of the week, and needs 2 parts to be played.

Make Letter V Shape:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. 2 big lines for capital V\/ 2 little lines for Lowercase v<\/strong>. Your child use a finger to trace the letter starting at the top, going diagonally down, and then back up diagonally. (In order to start learning letters, your child will need a set of big curves, little curves, big lines and little lines in wood.<\/strong> You can purchase them at https:\/\/www.lwtears.com<\/a> or make them your self.     A whole week activity<\/strong>:
    For the phonetic<\/strong> part, have a big yogurt container with a lid filled with small objects or pictures that start with the letter V (valley, van, vanilla, vanish, vase, vegetables, velvet, very, vest, vet, village, violets, violin, visit, visitor, voice, volcano, vole). You might want to add a picture of an Ninja, so that your child can say Ninja does not start with V!     kitchen Science<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Have you ever had green eggs and ham<\/strong>? For green eggs, crack and beat eggs in a bowl adding 1-2 drops of green food coloring. Use ham, or tofu soaked in hot water water with green food coloring and drained for 15 minutes. Bon app\u00e9tit!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    For an alternative<\/strong>, you need (1) small wafer pretzel, (2) cream cheese, and (3) green M&M. Spread cream cheese on small pretzel and put a green candy on top.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Science<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    On the tune of \u201cOh, my Darling Clementine\u201d, we can sing: what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather like today? Is it cloudy, is it rainy, is it sunny, is it cold?<\/strong> (You can also change the weather words).
    Let your child check the weather and tell you about it. You might want to ask your child to do a weather drawing that you can label.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Language Arts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Math<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Letter V Memory Game https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/letter-v-memory-game-coloring-page\/<\/a> Cut out cards and turn them face down. Each player takes turn turning over 2 cards. If both cards are the same, are a pair, the player can keep them. Otherwise, turn the cards face down and the next player tries to find a pair. The game is over when there are no more cards to turn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    February is here to stay! The calendar<\/strong> is a daily<\/strong> activity to do with your child that develop number and pattern recognition. Here is the link to print a calendar to update daily with your child.     Daily counting of tally marks<\/strong> and show your child a number card or write the number down to show your child. The numbers of the tallies will be different every day. Extend the concept by comparing numbers: which has more? Which has fewer? Which are the same?How many more (count with fingers)<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Art<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    For Letterland Letter V for \u201cViolets in a Vase\u201d Art Project<\/strong>, you need (1) template https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/my-letter-v-coloring-page\/<\/a>, (2) blue, purple and green construction paper, (3) scissors, (4) glue, (5) purple tempera paint or purple baking cups (optional), (6) bottom of celery for flowers, (7) black marker, and (8) perfume or any scent (optional).
    Directions:
    1. Cut template out of purple construction paper for vase and glue on blue construction paper.
    2. Dip celery bottom in purple tempera paint on a small paper plate and print on top of blue construction paper sheet, above vase. Prints are flowers.
    3. Cut thin strips of green construction paper and glue from painted flowers to inside of V for vase. strips are flower stems.
    4. Label \u201cViolets in a Vase\u201d.
    5. If you have a Letterland binder, add the craft in.
    6. A simpler version, cut template and vegetable pictures from magazines and glue together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    For Green Eggs and Ham Art Project<\/strong>, you need (1) paper plate, (2) white and grey construction paper, (3) scissors, (4) glue, (5) bottle cork, (6) green tempera paint.
    Directions:
    1. Cut cloud-shapes out of white construction paper for egg whites.
    2. Dip cork in green tempera paint and print on shapes for egg yolk.
    3. Glue all on paper plate. The plate is the cooking pan.
    4. Cut a handle out of grey construction paper to glue for your cooking pan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
