(Blow kisses) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For the writing\/reading process,<\/strong> have your child trace or copy (advanced skill) <strong>daily<\/strong> his\/her name on paper\/dry eraser board\/ mini blackboard (kindergarten handwriting page) starting at the top of each letter (you could draw an emoji \ud83d\ude42) either in all uppercase letters or just first letter in capital\/uppercase and the rest in lowercase. After listening to the story, help your child retell the story using lots of X words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A whole week activity<\/strong>:<br>For the <strong>phonetic<\/strong> part, have a big yogurt container with a lid filled with small objects or pictures that have the letter X (box, exit, fix, Fox, mix, mixture, next, six, sixteen, sixty, taxi, wax). You might want to add a picture of a whale, so that your child can say Whale does not start with X! Here is a book of X word pictures: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.first-school.ws\/t.asp?t=http:\/\/www.first-school.ws\/images\/alpha\/ap1\/x.gif\">https:\/\/www.first-school.ws\/t.asp?t=http:\/\/www.first-school.ws\/images\/alpha\/ap1\/x.gif<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/letter-x-minibook\/\">https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/letter-x-minibook\/<\/a> Also, you can add new objects\/pictures starting with the letter X every day and let your child explore the container all through the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Science<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong>The Science of<\/strong> <strong>Making Paper Airplane<\/strong>, you need paper and instructions (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.primroseschools.com\/blog\/how-to-make-a-paper-airplane\/\">https:\/\/www.primroseschools.com\/blog\/how-to-make-a-paper-airplane\/<\/a>). With your child, make as many as you want and see which one goes the shortest or fastest,&#8230;&#8230; Does the shape make a difference? How does it work with wind or a fan?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the tune of \u201cOh, my Darling Clementine\u201d, we can sing: <strong>what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather, what\u2019s the weather like today? Is it cloudy, is it rainy, is it sunny, is it cold?<\/strong> (You can also change the weather words).<br>Let your child check the weather and tell you about it. Brainstorm with your child what you know about planes. Discuss how\/when your child can go on a plane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong>an advanced activity<\/strong>, have your child fill in a simple <strong>story map<\/strong>. Take a sheet of paper and divide it into 3 equal size parts. Write \u201cBeginning\u201d, \u201cMiddle\u201d, and \u201cEnd\u201d and encourage your child to make a drawing about the beginning, the middle and the end of the story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Review positional words<\/strong> with a plane in hand: \u201cI am next, under, over, behind, in front, &#8230;. to the plane.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m a Little Airplane\u201d <strong>Song<\/strong> <strong>and Movement <\/strong> (\u201cI\u2019m a Little Teapot\u201d tune)     <br>I\u2019m a little airplane way up high. (Bend right and left) <br>That\u2019s what copters do!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Math<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Letter X Memory Game <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/letter-x-memory-game-coloring-page\/\">https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/letter-x-memory-game-coloring-page\/<\/a>. Cut out cards and turn them face down. Each player takes turn turning over 2 cards. If both cards are the same, are a pair, the player can keep them. Otherwise, turn the cards face down and the next player tries to find a pair. The game is over when there are no more cards to turn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With toy color airplanes, have your child do <strong>sorts<\/strong> (color, shape, size) and <strong>counts<\/strong>. For a <strong>Counting Game with Die\/Dice<\/strong>, collect 10-20 (more for advanced) toy planes or counters and a die\/dice. Each player takes turn rolling the die (dice for advanced) and take the number of planes\/counters corresponding to the number of dots on die. The winner is the player with 10 toy planes\/counters (20 for advanced).<br><br>Spring is in the air in March! The <strong>calendar<\/strong> is a <strong>daily<\/strong> activity to do with your child that develop number and pattern recognition. Here is the link to print a calendar to update daily with your child. The numbers of the tallies will be different every day. Extend the concept by comparing numbers: <strong>which has more? Which has fewer? Which are the same?How many more (count with fingers)<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Art<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Make a Paper Airplane <a href=\"https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/make-an-airplane-coloring-page\/\">https:\/\/twistynoodle.com\/make-an-airplane-coloring-page\/<\/a>.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong>Clothespin Popsicle Stick Airplane Art Project<\/strong>, you need (1) 1 clothespin, (2) glue, (3) 2 color popsicle sticks (can be painted too), and (4) small construction paper color rectangle, and (5) black marker.   <br>Directions:     <br>1. Glue 2 color popsicle sticks on clothespin for wings.   <br>2. Glue construction paper rectangle for tail.   <br>3. Give details with black marker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong>Engineering a Paper or Popsicle Stick Airplane Project<\/strong>, provide your child with (1) construction paper color shapes or color popsicle sticks, (2) masking color tape,  (3) markers, and (4) recyclables (empty toilet paper roll, lids,&#8230;).
