For the writing/reading process, have your child trace or copy (advanced skill) daily his/her name on paper/dry eraser board/ mini blackboard (kindergarten handwriting page) starting at the top of each letter (you could draw 🙂) either in all uppercase letters or just first letter in uppercase and the rest in lowercase.

During the week, have your child explore the big yogurt container with a lid filled with small objects or pictures that start with the letter L (lemon, lettuce, lentils, lion, lizard, leaf, leg letter). You might want to add a picture of an apple, so that your child can say that apple does not start with L! Also, you can add new objects/pictures starting with the letter L all through the week.

On the tune of “Clementine”, we can sing: what’s the weather, what’s the weather, what’s the weather like today? Is it cloudy, is it rainy, is it sunny, is it cold? (You can also change the weather words).
Let your child check the weather and tell you about it. You might want to ask your child to do a weather drawing that you can label. Some activities will be repetitive to create a routine that brings comfort to your child.

With the theme of kindness, I would encourage you to make a garland of kindness acts. For this project, you need strips of colored paper and a stapler. Every time, your child or a member of your family does a kind act (give a hug, help with dishes, pick up sibling’s toys, share a toy,…), write it down on a strip of paper and staple both ends together to make a loop. Attach a new loop with every new kind act. Very soon, you will have a colorful garland decorating your house!

Math
Your child has done a lot of counting so far and learned to associate an amount to a number. If you have a deck of cards, you can play a game of war. You will need to take out all the kings, queens and jacks. Rules: shuffle The deck of cards and deal the entire deck to 2 players. Make sure to keep the cards face-down. Next, count to 3, and have both players flip their top card. The player with the highest Number card wins the round and takes both cards. If you flip the same value card, then you go flip another card on top and compare. The highest number card wins!
The calendar is a daily activity to do with your child that develop number and pattern recognition. Here is the link to print a calendar to update daily with your child. Daily counting of tally marks and show your child a number card or write the number down to show your child. The numbers of the tallies will be different every day. Extend the concept by comparing numbers: which has more? Which has fewer? Which are the same?
