Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers in the World! I loved to give flowers to my mom and to other moms.
Science
You can find flowers in many different places: (1) in nature https://uswildflowers.com/wfquery.php?State=MD&Color=Blue and (2) in a store https://www.burpee.com/flowers/flowers-for-cutting/
Have your child make a bouquet for his/her mom with a ribbon, if you have, and a special drawing with a Mother’s Day Poem that you can find below. Your child could also do the Fingerplay for his/her mom.
Happy Mother’s Day Fingerplay
I’ll pick some flowers for my mom
To make a nice bouquet (pretend picking flowers)
I’ll give her a smile (give a smile)
And say, Happy Mother’s Day!
Language Arts
There are many books about loving mothers. The best is to read a book to/with mom. Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANuBMf2jDC0
Happy Mother’s Day Song (Tune of “Bingo”)
I know someone who’s very special and mommy is her name-o!
MOMMY, MOMMY, MOMMY and mommy is her name-o!
Happy Mother’s Day Song (Tune of “This Old Man”)
Hugs for you, kisses too!
Thank you mom for all you do!
So, sit back and relax. It is your very special day!
Have a happy Mother’s Day!
Mommy Song (Tune of “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Stars”)
Mommy, mommy, let me say,
I love you in every way.
I love you for all you do!
I love you for being you!
Mommy, mommy, let me say,
Have a Happy Mother’s Day!
Math
May is a new month and your child needs a new calendar. Print this calendar set https://www.themailbox.com/magazines/may-calendar-setbr4-pages/may-calendar-set and have your child choose a pattern to follow for the new month.
For this Flower Math game, your child need (1) die, (2) print out, (3) stickers. To play, your child need to roll the die and cover the number on the paper that corresponds to the die with a sticker.

Art
Poems
(1) For this Mother’s Day Card, help your child to paint hands and make handprints on paper with a heart and this poem:
Mommy, I love you,
For all that you do.
I’ll kiss you and hug you
‘Cause you love me too.
You feed me and need me
To teach you to play,
So smile ’cause I love you
On this Mother’s Day!
(2) For this Mother’s Day card, help your child to make a card with a paper flower cut out of different color paper and glued on the card with this poem:
I am like a flower
That is raised with
Love by you.
You help me grow up
Big and Strong.
Mom, thanks for all you do!
(3) For this Mother’s Day card, help your child to trace his/her hands on color paper, cut them, glue them on the card and use a marker to draw stems and a ribbon to the bouquet of hand flowers, with this poem:
I’ll pick some flowers
For you, Mom,
To make a nice bouquet.
I’ll give ou a smile
And say, Happy Mother’s Day!
(4) For this Mother’s Day Art Project, you need (1) big pieces of blue construction paper, (2) brush, (3) brown, yellow and white acrylic paint.
Trace a big circle on blue construction paper and about 6-10 petals. Help your child paint with the brush the circle in brown acrylic paint, the petals in yellow acrylic paint. After the paint is dry, help your child to paint a streak of white in the middle of each petal.

Happy Mother’s Day!
Another idea for a Mother’s Day card is the following: help your child to cut a big yellow circle and write “I love you mom because …..” And cut 8 color petals on which you can record why your child loves his/her mom. Attach all together to form a big flower!
