Kitchen Science
Snack is a fun Learning activity too. I really miss cooking with a group of preschoolers! Here is a Jolly Jellyfish snack to create with with your child.
For this snack, you need: (1) plate, (2) English muffin, (3) strawberry cream cheese, (4) string cheese, and (5) a plastic knife. Help your child cut the muffin into two for two jellyfish heads and spread the cream cheese on both. Then, have your child separate the strings of string cheese and put them as the tentacles of the jellyfish head. Language Arts
After a yummy snack, we are ready to hear a friendship story with a seahorse, a jellyfish and a crab. The title is Peanut Butter and Jellyfish by Jarrett J. Krosoczka. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_ps2AMFzZE After viewing the book, help your child sequence the story: what happened first, then, and at the end.
There are also underlying themes that you can discuss with your child: friendship, courage to apologize, helping someone in trouble and making new friends.

For this simple art project, you need (1) black and white construction paper, (2) scissors, (3) glue, and (4) color chalk. Have your child cover with different color chalk the piece of white construction paper. Cut a circle out of it and cut it in half for 2 jellyfish heads. Have your child glue the heads on the black construction paper and draw 2 eyes on each. Then, have your child draw with chalk wavy lines down from the heads for the jellyfish tentacles.
