Goddag! Let’s sing together our song “Rise and Shine – Welcome to School Today” by Dr. Jean https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyAD2OoFuoY and our greeting song “Hello to all the children of the world”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nYjGy_ZUG8
I realize that you might have to survey other members of your family for the question of the day so that your child have enough tally marks to count or have your child put more than one tally mark.
How many grandparents/friends do you have?

For the writing/reading process, have your child trace or copy (advanced skill) daily his/her name on paper/dry eraser board/ mini blackboard (kindergarten handwriting page), either in all uppercase letters or just first letter in uppercase and the rest in lowercase.
If you have My First School Book from Handwriting Without Tears methodology https://www.lwtears.com/hwt, we will use it.
In order to start learning letters, your child will need a set of big curves, little curves, big lines and little lines in wood. You can purchase them at https://www.lwtears.com or make them your self. Here is a picture: http://cdn.lwtears.com/images/uploads/1_787_large.png
Following yesterday’s discovery of Map Man, both you and your child take a piece of paper and a crayon. With the song, a parent draws each part and invite your child to do the same looking at the parent drawing. At the end of Your child’s drawing of Map Man, have your child add details to the drawing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvphUKrDobc
We can start with the Alphabet Song from Sesame Street: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=783EsrHchXA
You might want to check your child’s Readiness for the program by working together and filling in pages 92-93 in My First School Book. This evaluation will show your child’s strengths and weaknesses.
Science
On the tune of “Clementine”, we can sing: what’s the weather, what’s the weather, what’s the weather like today? Is it cloudy, is it rainy, is it sunny, is it cold? (You can also change the weather words).
Let your child check the weather and tell you about it. You might want to ask your child to do a weather drawing that you can label. Some activities will be repetitive to create a routine that brings comfort to your child.

The Hello, Goodbye Window by Norton Juster https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKlkCIf2cug After viewing the book, help your child sequence the story: what happened first, next and at the end. Then, share with your child your memories of your grandparents/grand friends and ask what your child experience/love with grandparents/friends.
Grandma’s Glasses Fingerplay (You can change grandpa/ma)

”Jack and Jill” Nursery Rhyme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plBJOMTZ6qA
Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water.
Jack fell down and broke his crown,
And Jill came tumbling after.
Love Grows” Song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yN3RGUt87d0) I teach the sign language too.
Math
Daily counting of tally marks and the counters you put in a container is an excellent practice for your child’s mathematical skills. Once tallied or counted, show your child the appropriate number card or write the number down to show your child. The numbers of the tallies will be different every day and you can also change the counters. Extend the concept by comparing numbers: which has more? Which has fewer? Which are the same?
The calendar is a daily activity to do with your child that develop number and pattern recognition. Here is the link to print a calendar to update daily with your child. The set has a weather component, if you like. https://www.themailbox.com/magazines/september-calendar-setbr4-pages/september-calendar-set-3
Let’s also sing the Days of the Week Song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKqAblcwFOA
