Marhaba! Let’s sing together our song “Rise and Shine – Welcome to School Today” by Dr. Jean https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyAD2OoFuoY and our greeting song “Hello to all the children of the world”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nYjGy_ZUG8

I realize that you might have to survey other members of your family for the question of the day so that your child have enough tally marks to count or have your child put more than one tally mark.

For the writing/reading process, have your child trace or copy (advanced skill) daily his/her name on paper/dry eraser board/ mini blackboard (kindergarten handwriting page) starting at the top of each letter (you could draw 🙂) either in all uppercase letters or just first letter in uppercase and the rest in lowercase.

If you have My First School Book from Handwriting Without Tears methodology https://www.lwtears.com/hwt. Have your child complete pages 23-24.

During the week, have your child explore the big yogurt container with a lid filled with small objects or pictures that start with the letter L (lemon, lettuce, lentils, lion, lizard, leaf, leg letter). You might want to add a picture of an apple, so that your child can say that apple does not start with L! Also, you can add new objects/pictures starting with the letter L all through the week.

Science

Yesterday, your child collected signs of fall/autumn on a walk. It is time to make a Fall Collage. You need (1) a piece of paper, (2) glue And (3) crayons/markers. Your child can be very creative. Review also the circle of seasons (Have your child make a big circle in the air with their arm. At each quarter, have your child repeat a season (fall or autumn, winter, spring and summer). https://mrsmclennan.blogspot.com/2012/10/signs-of-fall-nature-collage.html

On the tune of “Clementine”, we can sing: what’s the weather, what’s the weather, what’s the weather like today? Is it cloudy, is it rainy, is it sunny, is it cold? (You can also change the weather words).
Let your child check the weather and tell you about it. You might want to ask your child to do a weather drawing that you can label. Some activities will be repetitive to create a routine that brings comfort to your child.

Language Arts

Kindness to Share from A to Z by Todd and Peggy Snow https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K935sna2UdI is reviewing our theme of kindness and our learning of alphabet letters. For each page, I encourage you to point out the first letter in the alphabet sequence. After viewing The, after viewing the book, talk about the letter L and review all the words you and your child know that start with L.

A Clean-Up Song (tune of “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”) for A House Job.

”I’m a Little Teapot” Song
I’m a little teapot, short and stout.
Here is my handle, (put hand on hip)
Here is my spout, (lift other arm)
When I get all steamed up, hear me shout.
Tip me over and pour me out (bend your body sideways).

“Love Grows” Song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yN3RGUt87d0) I teach the sign language too.

Math

Your child can practice counting skills when collecting nature items during a walk.

My favorite activity is a Sudoku Puzzle. I was excited to find one with pictures for preschool children (advanced). It teaches problem solving too. Have fun helping your child figure this puzzle out https://www.dltk-kids.com/Crafts/weather/msudoku.htm

The calendar is a daily activity to do with your child that develop number and pattern recognition. Here is the link to print a calendar to update daily with your child. The set has a weather component, if you like. https://www.themailbox.com/magazines/september-calendar-setbr4-pages/september-calendar-set-3

Daily counting of tally marks and show your child a number card or write the number down to show your child. The numbers of the tallies will be different every day. Extend the concept by comparing numbers: which has more? Which has fewer? Which are the same?
