Science
You guessed it. The insect was the cricket. It can make music. Can your child make music too? Brainstorm with your child how he/she can make music:
- With body parts: clapping, whistling, clicking tongue, snapping,….
- With kitchen tools: spoons, pots, pans, glasses,….
- With instruments: drum, guitar, tambourine, bell, triangle, maracas, piano,….
Help your child explore music making and ask your child to tell you which one is his/her favorite.
If you have a journal, ask your child to make a drawing that you can label and date.

Math
May is a new month and your child needs a new calendar. Print this calendar set https://www.themailbox.com/magazines/may-calendar-setbr4-pages/may-calendar-set and have your child choose a pattern to follow for the new month.
You can incorporate music and counting. Count the shakes! To make a shaker, you need dried beans and plastic eggs or paper plate. Help your child put beans in a plastic egg or in a paper plate folded into 2. Seal the egg and plate with glue or strong tape. Your child can also decorate the paper plate shaker!
